This year Subtle Technologies is joining the international science community in celebrating the World Year of Physics. The World Year of Physics is being celebrated in commemoration of the 100th anniversary of the publishing of three of Einstein's most significant papers. These ideas revolutionized the way we think about the universe. Although this is a theme that runs throughout our festival this year, there are many other topics being presented in keeping with our mandate to provide a diverse and thought provoking program that crosses many disciplines.

What is Subtle Technologies?

Subtle Technologies is an annual, four-day multidisciplinary event exploring the complex and subtle relationships between art and science.

Subtle Technologies' mandate is to blur the boundaries between art and science, presenting symposia, exhibitions and performances that juxtapose cutting-edge artistic endeavours and scientific exploration.

Subtle Technologies is a unique festival in Canada in its acknowledgement of science as a major cultural force.
