Welcome to the 7th Annual Subtle Technologies Festival

What is Subtle Technologies?

Subtle Technologies is an annual, four-day multidisciplinary event exploring the complex and subtle relationships between art and science.

Subtle Technologies' mandate is to blur the boundaries between art and science, presenting symposia, exhibitions and performances that juxtapose cutting-edge artistic endeavours and scientific exploration.

Subtle Technologies Showcases Creativity and Innovation

Subtle Technologies is a unique festival in Canada in its acknowledgement of science as a major cultural force. We not only feature science and mathematics in end-result technologies, but celebrate science in its theoretical form, exposing our audience to the research and ideas yet to be fully integrated into the market or cultural practices.

Subtle Technologies provides a public showcase for groundbreaking work by artists and scientists. It has a well respected international reputation and features some of the leading artists and scientists around the world.

Subtle Technologies is an invaluable source of information and contacts for those working in art, science, technology and design, and for those looking to connect with leaders in these fields. It is a heady but extremely laid back and social event.

Subtle Technologies is Canada's most affordable and accessible event that showcases the concepts and ideas of todays leading thinkers.
